A group, Initiative For Social Rights Concerns And Advancement (ISRCA) AKA “No Justice, No Peace” today urged the leadership's of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, TUC led by Messrs Joe Ajaero and Festus Osifo respectively to redirect their focus from the Federal Government of Nigeria. The group said they should take fresh actions on transport unions, traders and business owners, regulating and monitoring their activities to curb constant extortion, where they allegedly exploit the fuel price and economic conditions to uncontrollably inflate prices, which has become unbearable.

This is contained in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri by ISRCA National Coordinator, Comrade (Amb.) Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen.

According to the group, "The same level of enthusiasm exhibited in calling for strikes on multiple occasions allegedly for personal gains should also be channeled into taking fresh actions against these categories.

"These are issues that directly impact people's daily lives and should be given immediate attention."

The group said, "Now, that the petrol pump price is quietly reducing, from ₦1,450/L to ₦980/L, business owners, transporters should practically initiate corresponding reductions in the prices of commodities and services rendered.

"In the past, it has been virtually impossible to decrease transportation’s and the prices of food commodities in this country's markets.

"Whenever fuel prices increase, leading to inflation, which subsequently subsides, the prices of commodities never drops let alone transportation cost."

The group also blamed Traders for contributing to the challenges of Nigeria.

It said, "Until the fuel pump price is standardized and sold at an affordable rate per liter nationwide, transporters, traders and business owners must make necessary adjustments accordingly."
