NFF Unveils Eric Chelle as New Super Eagles Coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officially unveiled Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles on Monday. The ceremony took place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Chelle, a 47-year-old former Mali international, was confirmed as the 42nd substantive head coach of the Super Eagles last Tuesday. He takes the reins with a daunting task ahead: reviving Nigeria's struggling 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles are currently languishing in fifth place in Group C, with a paltry three points from four matches and no victories to their name. Chelle's appointment is seen as a strategic move to turn the team's fortunes around.

In addition to the World Cup qualifiers, Chelle is also expected to lead the home-based Super Eagles in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Ivory Coast.

With his wealth of experience and expertise, Chelle is expected to bring a fresh perspective and tactical acumen to the Super Eagles. Nigerians will be watching with bated breath as he embarks on this critical mission to restore the team's glory.
