The Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty Luke, Kalanama VIII (JP) today paid a glowing tribute to High Chief(Dr.) Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo Alias Tompolo for opening up the Niger Delta Region for greater developments to come just as he prayed for the peace of the Niger Delta Region as well as for all those who who mean well for the Niger Delta people.
The reverred monarch made the assertion as GbaramatuVoice unveiled the "Niger Delta Media House" in Warri, Delta State.
HRM.Kalanama VIII who officially commissioned the Niger Media House, Ogunu in Warri, also prayed for good health and long life for Tompolo so that the dream of liberating the Niger Delta is achieved.
HRM. Kalanama VIII who is the 1st Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Council. He said, "My prayers have been with GbaramatuVoice" noting that the media outfit started from the scratch like a seed that was planted few years ago pointing out that it has blossomed.
"It's our prayers that your journey has just started. Am trusting God that with the dedication and unwavering desire to take this to the next level is very paramount.
"Don't forget that the media space is what we actually need to propagate our desire, our feelings and aspirations of the Niger Delta. So, you are doing a great job and it's our prayers that you sustain this tempo, off course, improve on it.
"Yes, you started some years ago and today, we are opening this magnificent edifice and I know that this is just the beginning. You will acquire a space, an expanse of land where you have a high rise building, office of GbaramatuVoice. By then too, we will all be alive to play our role in one way or the other for the sustenance and so also other media houses in the Niger Delta.
"But we must tell our stories and we can only tell our story when we have our own brand. There's no way the Yoruba man will tell a story the way we want the story to be told. There's no way the Hausa man will do same. But we that own the story, will tell the story for the outside world to know that we are the ones laying the golden egg and we must also partake in it. We see good things in Abuja, we see good things in Lagos but those are not coming from the Niger Delta. So, we must as a matter of urgency, take back what belongs to us.
"I must also pay glowing tribute to Tompolo who has actually opened up Niger Delta Region for greater things to come and for all that are working with him, all we pray for,is good health and long life for him so that dream of liberating the Niger Delta is a task that must be achieved."
He also commended the National Coordinator of CEPEJ, High Chief Sheriff Mulade for his supportive roles to the media house over the years.
"We also want to thank CEPEJ, High Chief Sheriff Mulade because, like a line voice crying in the wilderness but today, that voice is no longer lone. Others have joined him. He started the race but thank God that others have joined him. So, the voice that was once lone for instance, now has multiple voices and it's echoing, resonating with the Nigerian State. Off course, with the global world.
