Uduere Community Honours Olorogun Jaro Egbo, Ughelli North Council Chairman
Uduere community of Ughelli North Local Government Area Saturday rolled out the drums in celebration of her son, Olorogun (Barr) Jaro Omovudu Egbo, Ughelli North Council Chairman at Uduere primary school in Uduere.
Gaily dressed residents in their numbers thronged the venue early in joyous mood for a son who has brought pride to the community.
Chairman of the event, Rt. Hon (Barr) Festus Ovie Agas commended the Uduere people for believing in their son Olorogun Barr Jaro Egbo and for finding him worthy of this great honor.
Agas charged them to always pray for him so that he can do better and attract meaningful development to Ughelli north.
Olorogun Jaro Egbo in his speech thanked the community for the great honour.
According to him, "A prophet is not recognised at home but today Uduere people have changed this narrative by this celebration.
"I never knew that my efforts were being recognised to the extent of being lavishly celebrated by my people.
"This gesture will spur me to greater works. I want to leave an indelible mark in Ughelli North because I have a greater calling." He added.
The highlights of the occasion was presentation of gift items from the Uduere community to the Local Government Chairman.
The ceremony was attended by Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, immediate past Chief of staff Government house, Hon Lucky Avweromre, Chairman Ughelli South, Chief Dr Isaac Akpoveta, Director General Delta State Contributory health Schemes, Chief Fred Majemite, Olorogun Peter Akpofure, Otota of Ughelli kingdom, Olorogun Dr Chris Oharisi, among others.
