Road projects inspection: Ubu Bridge of Ughelli/Asaba Road dualisation will be ready by December says Gov. Oborevwori
The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, said that the Ubu bridge along sector C1 of the ongoing Ughelli-Asaba Road dualisation project at Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area would be ready in December, 2024.
Governor Oborevwori disclosed this during the inspection of projects which include the completed 9.1km Isheagu-Ewulu Road.
Governor Oborevwori who frowned at the poor delivery of the side drains of the road projects explained the reason he embarked on road inspection on a day Deltans are celebrating anniversary of the state's creation.
According to the Governor, while some people were celebrating for the day, his team and he himself decided to use the day to inspect important infrastructure as part of activities to mark the state's creation anniversary.
Governor Oborevwori, said, he was thankful to God for the anniversary of Delta State saying that he felt necessary to inspect some of the works that are ongoing in Isheagu/Ewulu Road.
According to the Governor who said this was not his first time of coming to the scene for inspection,he said, he has to come with his team to inspect the Sector C1 which is the most critical part of the dualisation of Ughelli/Asaba Road His words:" This is not my first time l am coming here for inspection, l have been here three times. I observe that the organization is having challenges due to the persistent rainfall".
According to him, the construction company has done the binding and the wearing course and therefore expressed satisfaction over the work done. He however said, the construction company is having a little issue with the drains which he has mandated the company to make some corrections before the projects can be commissioned saying, without these corrections, the projects can not be commissioned.
