Delta: APC flags off LG election campaign in Ogbe-Ijoh
The All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Delta State, Monday, flagged-off Zonal campaign in Ogbe-Ijoh, the Local Government Headquarters of Warri South-West for the forthcoming council elections scheduled to hold on July 13, 2024.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Delta South Senatorial Chairman of APC, Austin Orighoye expressed optimism that the party would emerge victoriously in the 2024 Local Government polls.
"With your support, the APC Chairman and Councilorship candidates will win the forthcoming elections," the Senatorial Chairman said.
Orighoye also called on the electorate to have faith in the party and come out en masse to cast their votes for APC.
According to him, the 2024 Local Government elections in the state would be peaceful, devoid of any form of manipulation, and therefore presented flag to the Chairmanship's candidate, Ambassador Honourable Bene Mamamu.
In his remarks, Amb. Mamamu thanked participants and promised to be a good representative.
He said, "I will sponsor 20 persons in each Ward in Warri South-West Local Government Areas to the United States for studies annually, I will make sure every Ward in Warri South-West LGA has health centres( hospitals) and also give scholarship to students in Warri South-West LGA."
Meanwhile, Chief Ayiri Emami, APC Chieftain sent a strong warning to Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), that the forthcoming election is no longer business as usual saying he is interested to see the candidates are duly elected by their people this around.
His words, "This year's local government election is no longer business as usual, we want to see candidates that are elected by their people, that's when we will have quality people representing us, "he stated.
