Former President Goodluck Jonathan Praises Gov. Oborevwori for Financial Prudence ...as Governor gifts 20 SUVs to Judiciary

Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, has praised the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori , for being financially prudent when he was the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. 

Dr Jonathan made this remark during the commissioning of the State High Court Building in Asaba on Tuesday. 

Dr Jonathan who quoted one of the masters of ceremony, said  Governor Oborevwori saved the sum of 500 million naira when he was the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and therefore charged him(Governor) to continue in this direction.

The former President, who was visibly happy, expressed gratitude to the Governor and the people of Delta State for the care given to him whenever he visits the State. 

Dr Jonathan who was very happy to be invited to the State to commission the landmark project, which was started in 1991 by previous administration, thanked  the Governor for completing the project within one year. 

It could be recalled that Governor Oborevwori  was the Speaker of the state House of Assembly from 2018 to 2023, being the longest serving Speaker of the state Assembly to have spent six years as the Speaker  in the history of the state.

The highpoint of the ceremony was Governor Oborevwori's handing over of 20 Prado SUVs to the High Court Judges as part of his  commitments  for effective justice dispensation in the state.
