Okerenkoko Community celebrates Children's Day in grand style
Okerenkoko Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri Southwest Local Government Area, Delta State will on Monday celebrate Children's Day in a grand style.
The occasion is themed: "Celebrating the Leaders of Tomorrow", with three different keynote speakers, among whom are: Pst. Mrs. Bridget Foh Affiah, Executive Director, JD Foh Development Foundation, Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo, President Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation, and Hon. Ebi Adams Tonjoh, former Councillor, Okerenkoko Ward, in Warri South West Local Government Area of the state.
In a press statement signed on Friday by Shedrack Otuaro, Chairman, Okerenkoko Federated Community and made available to PEBNEWS said, the essence of this year's Children's Day celebration is a reminder that every child, regardless of caste, creed, financial or political status deserves basic amenities such as education and good health care.
Part of the statement reads: "It is also an avenue to awaken our parents and guidance to their responsibilities of raising responsible wards in order to shape the future of our community.
"As leaders, we are posed with the responsibility of bringing this message of hope to our children currently in our nursery, primary and secondary schools that, they can even do better than their counterparts in the city if the right attitude is embedded in them.
"This has prompted us to engage some keynote speakers who will be deliberating on:" Career Development Of Our Children: The Importance Of the Girl Child Education and Leadership Development".
"For the growth and development of our community, there is a need to shape and guide our children on the right paths to greatness," the statement added.
He further invites the general public to grace the occasion.
