Senator Dickson sues for peace in Rivers State

Senator Seriake Dickson, Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, has reiterated the need for peace as a necessary condition for development in the state.


Senator Dickson stated this at commissioning of the Emohua - Kalabari Road rehabilitated by the administration of Governor Siminilaye Fubara of Rivers State.

The lawmaker lauded Governor Fubara's commitment to service and his developmental strides evident in  roads construction and rehabilitation projects that have impacted four local governments areas in the state. He also lauded Rivers State Governor's  focus on governance even in the face of distractions.

He thanked the traditional rulers, elders, political leaders and the entire people of Rivers State for the support and encouragement given to the Governor and his team.

While urging Governor Fubara to continue to  embark on positive  lives' changing projects to the people of Rivers State, he urged the people to rally support for the Governor and his team to enable them continue to work to achieve  peace in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Siminilaye Fubara thanked Senator Dickson for honouring his(Fubara) invitation to  commission the road project.

According to Governor Fubara, the 21.2 billion naira project was awarded on the 18th of February, 2023 by the immediate past administration adding that, his administration contributed seventy percent to the project that is being commissioned today.

The Rivers State Governor thanked the traditional rulers of Kalabari Kingdom, the people of the communities in the four local governments areas impacted by the project for the peace enjoyed by the contractors during the construction of the road.

Governor Fubara said that the road would be extended from Tema Junction to Abonima and assured  the people that his administration is  committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to their door-steps.
