LG Polls: Eight Commissioners allegedly resign in Oborevwori's administration
As local government elections in Delta State draw near, it was alleged that eight Commissioners have resigned from Governor Oborevwori's government in order to contest the local government elections. It was learnt that out of the eight, while three have actually resigned, five are still contemplating to do so.
It was alleged that, they resigned due to marching order from Governor Oborevwori that anybody who is interested to contest the local government elections should resign.
Those who allegedly resigned include: Hon. Joan Onyemachi Commissioner, (Technical Education), Mr Jaro Egbo (Special Adviser on Transport and Co-ordinator of Palliative, Mr. Vincent Oyibode Commissioner ( Oil and Gas), though, he has since denied media report to this effect.
Report has it however, that the other five Commissioners are yet to make up their minds as they are still contemplating their political position or risked being sacked by the Governor.
However, when contacted, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oborevwori, Sir Festus Ahon said, he was not aware of any directive given to Commissioners by the Governor to resign as regards council polls.
