Otuaro, do not be distracted, those calling for your sack are criminals - former MEND Commanders

Former Camp 5 MEND Commanders have called on the Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Program, Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD not to be distracted by those calling for his sack but to focus on the task of achieving the goals of the program.

The call was contained in a statement jointly signed by Josiah Oyakonghan a.k.a Commander Oyimi, Peter Ekpebide a.k.a Commander Fire-Burn, Commander Thompson Igere, Commander Dennis Kpadia, Peremor Ekpesegba, Mathias Sologidi, and Warri Tebela.

The statement read in part, "Your appointment as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme was ordained by God. You are someone who understands the PAP and that was the reason why God said you should be in the helms of the affairs of the PAP to salvage the sinking programme.

"Sir, we advise you not to be disturbed by the movement of those shameless people's protests calling for your sack as the Administrator of the PAP. The advice became imperative because many people have reduced their personalities and engaged themselves in 'We Can Do Anything To Feed Our Stomachs' struggle in this country. 

"It is shameful that some people cannot respect themselves anymore because of their stomach infrastructure. We are warning those people that are protesting and those that are planning to protest against Chief Dennis Otuaro to desist from their illicit movement. 

"We are strongly warming those evil plotters to back off before we call on the wrath of God to fall on them. We are some of the Pioneer Leaders and Commanders of the defunct MEND that led to the proclamation of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, but we never protested against any of the past Coordinators and Interim Administrators appointed by any President even though they were not performing well. 

"We want to know the sins of Chief Dennis Otuaro, who assumed office as the Administrator of the PAP, barely one month ago that warrant the illegal protest. We want to seriously warn the group called the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in the Niger Delta to quickly stop their illicit movement.

"Chief Dennis Otuaro was sent by God to liberate the PAP from perpetual bondage. We want to let the CCSO to know that the PAP is for the Ex-Agitators that accepted the Presidential Amnesty proclaimed by our wonderful late President Musa Yar'Adua of blessed memory and not for Civil Society Organisations in the Niger Delta or not for any political group(s). So they should keep clear from the PAP.

"We want to use this medium to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again for appointing Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program. Mr. President, you are a true democrat for listening to our cry to make Delta Ijaw the Head of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Mr. President, you are a father with listening ears and we thank you for giving us what we have been agitating for for many years." It stated.
