Hensard University Conducts Orientation of Pioneer Students, Poised to Produce Graduate Enterpreneurs
Academic activities for the 2023/2024 academic session have commenced at Hensard University Toru-Orua after the orientation of its pioneer students was concluded yesterday.
In his remark, Professor Dileep Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Hensard University assured students that the University's leadership and management team will be committed to providing an enabling environment for learning, exposure to international mentorship and exchange programs and provide the advanced technology for learning.
The University management led the students through the school's rules and regulations, emphasising discipline, and rigorous application of students' time to academic engagements. Different officers of the University spoke to the students on the facilities available and explained to them how to use them. They were also taken on a tour of the campus, including the lecture halls, medical centre, laboratories, farms among others.
Most of the students are beneficiaries of the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation tuition-free scholarships for degree programmes and the University’s Foundation School.
Recall that partners of the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation had sponsored some of the fees of beneficiaries of the scholarship, students are now to pay #200,000 for Accomodations and #50,000 for Medical fees.
While students resume in their numbers, more students who are beneficiaries of the scholarship are expected to resume soonest.
Hensard University, the first private University in Bayelsa State, is an all-residential school that prioritizes entrepreneurship delivered in its laboratories, fish ponds, poultry and the film school, where professionals see students through the practicals of ownership and management of enterprises, research and academic excellence.
