Governor's Aide, flag-up Sheriff Cares Movement, visits Correctional Centres

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State governor on Female Youths, Comrade Sandra Tuviere Akpoguma, has flagged off the Sheriff Cares Movement with visitation and presentation of essential items to female inmates at some correctional centres across the state. 

Some of the items presented to the inmates at the Medium Security Correctional Center, Sapele  included, sanitary Pads, Tissue Papers, detergent powder, soaps, body cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, Ladies underwear pants, beverages, bathing sponges, shaving sticks, and cotton buds.

Other items are snacks, breads, milo, cowbell milk, tin milk and disposable plates to cushion the effects on them. 

According to the team leader of Sheriff Cares Movement, Sandra Akpoguma, "The initiative of the visit is geared towards redeeming the dignity of female inmates and reducing the crime rate net in the country, particularly in Delta state.

"In fostering a crime-free environment in tandem with His Excellency, the Governor's MORE Agenda of Enhanced Peace and Security, we at the Sheriff Cares Movement, strongly believed that inmates are human beings that also deserved love and care.

"Earlier today, I led the Sheriff Cares Movement Team to the Nigerian Correctional facility in Sapele and the visit marked the formal flag-up of the Tour and Fellowship with Female Inmates of Nigerian Correctional Centers across Delta state.

"In line with the cardinal objectives of the tour and fellowship with female inmates in our correctional centers, we engaged them in pep talks, sensitization/hope-building sessions.

"Significantly, we also distributed essential items such as sanitary pads, tissue paper, detergent powder, premier cool soap, body cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, ladies' underwear pants, beverages, bathing sponges, shaving sticks, and cotton buds for use by the female inmates. 

"At the Sheriff Cares Movement, we strongly believe that inmates are human beings deserving of love and care, and this initiative is towards redeeming the dignity of female inmates and reducing the crime rate net in Delta state.

"We were received by the facility administrator, CSC. Okonkwo Emeke Kelvin,  who took us on a tour of the facility, and our engagement with female inmates.

"I want to appreciate my team members of the 'Sheriff Cares Movement' that voluntarily came out with me to render services to humanity and the girl child in particular. "She stated. 

On the entourage powered by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor of Female Youths are, Unabor Annette, Adjari Joseph, Oghenebrume Juliana Igho, Ighomor Onome, Umukoro Vivian, Edike Tega Clementina, Ovoke King Favour, Osika Esther, Adjan Oghenefejiro and Ovie Justina.
