President Tinubu will turn around Nigeria economy in the next 8yrs - Omo-Agege
Immediate past Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will turn around the economy of the nation for betterment in the next 8 years.
Senator Omo-Agege made this known during a reception event held in honour to officially welcome him back to Delta state after the March 18, 2023 governorship election at Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to him, "We are here because this is my official home coming and with this, I will continue to be interacting with you because it was you all that put this government in place.
"We championed and for the aspiration of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"We took his message of the Renewed Hope to every nooks and crannies of Delta state and I am appealing to you that have not received their jobs recompense to be patient as some has had theirs.
"I am confident that the president will remember everybody but one thing is clear, the president has not disappointed us. When we went out fighting this, we knew how his track record was as the governor of Lagos state.
"When he started, we saw the economic downturn, the dollar spiralling out of control but as at today, things are now taking shape gradually.
"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeeds, we all succeed, some say his mandate is four years but we believed that his mandate is for 8years and we know that in that eight years, he is going to turn everything around in this country and all of us will benefit from it," he said.
The Senator representing Delta Central, Senator Ede Dafinone while speaking at the event said, "Having being a member of the opposition for the past 16 years, and I have to say that our leader, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege doubt the most organized, the most structured and the most successful of any campaign to remove the PDP from office.
"When our leader, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege was elevated to the position of the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, some prominent Urhobo leaders were trying to detract him from his position and I felt for an Urhobo man to occupy the fifth position, most significant position in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it should be encouraged.
"In fact many still believed we won that election and as law abiding Nigerians, we have listened to the verdict of the court and we stand by that verdict, we may not have been victorious but we are proud of our leader over his outstanding performance".
Also former Delta North and Senator, Peter Nwaboshi commended Deltans for their support while he was imprisoned.
"I want to thanked Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege and our leader, Chief James Ibori for always coming to visit me while I was incarcerated.
"Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege was one of those that convince me to come to APC, we had agreement he kept all the agreement and I feel this is time to say it and I am happy that the national publicity secretary of APC stood behind Ovie Omo-Agege as a disciplined Delta North man.
"He stood firm to support me at the Senate and that is why we have a federal university in Delta North. When he is with you, he is with you and when he is against you, he is against you. I am grateful to him because, he sacrificed his position for me to be the candidate of the party even while I was incarcerated." Nwaboshi stated.
