Sapele: Hoodlums now burgle homes in Delta

Indigene and residents of Sapele Community no longer sleep with their eyes closed as hoodlums now break into their houses to steal valuables, money as well as injure victims, PEBNEWS can report.The hoodlums goes out both day and night in the Community especially when the victims are sleeping .Recently, they burgled into the home of a bean cake(Akara) seller simply identified as Mama Samu while she was deeply asleep with her children and carted away the sum of twenty-two thousand naira(₦22,000). The incident occurred on Friday, August 4th at about 3am.Another incident also happened within the locality as the hoodlums at Mopol Zone in Tropical area of Sapele on Sunday August 6th. They burgled into the house of an Ijaw woman simply identified as Mama Angel through the window while she was also alseep with her children, carted mobile phones and her plasma television. Within this over several other incidences have occurred in the homes of residents and indigenes in the areas which has Vigilantes keeping night watch and Police patrolling both day and night.Some of the victims in their anger have bought cuttlasses in preparation for the day any of the suspects would be apprehended as they vowed to feed them(hoodlums)in their own coin. Our Correspondent, Samu who spoke with Our Correspondent in Ajogodo lamented over the incident saying, "Sapele done turn another thing. Vigilante dey town and boys dey enter people house dey thief. The one wey we go catch for here, go hear am."Other residents who also spoke with Our Correspondent said many hoodlums were suspected internet fraudsters(Yahoo Boys) who have turned to criminals because their clients no longer pay. They called on the State Government and the Delta State Police Command to as a matter of urgency beef up security in the Community to protect their lives and properties and to save them from the hands of the hoodlums who poses dangers
