Ohworode of Olomu clocks 90, puts hope in God

Thirty-six days after emerging the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM Macaulay Onojomete Popo Ovbagbedia (JP), Uhurhie-Osadjere II, celebrated his 90th birthday with special Thanksgiving service at Ovwor-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.The Monarch, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police,  who was flanked by his immediate family members, Ilorogun, friends and the entire Olomu people appreciated God for granting him grace to marked his birthday.Speaking at the event, HRM Uhurie-Osadjere II said, "I only have my hope in God and know equivocally that if I trust in him and do what is right in His sight, He will give me what I want."He may not satisfy my greed but will surely give me what i want. He is the owner of abundant riches and He is sure to provide for me through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and great."Contentment is the key in whatever position you find yourself. Don't envy anybody, God knows what you need and He is more than willing to provide if you are willing to  Him. Godliness with contentment is great gain." He noted. Earlier in his homily, Ven. Robert Ayadju of the Archdeaconry of Olomu Diocese of Anglican Communion, called on all sons and daughters of Ancient Olomu Kingdom to support the king and not to starve him.The clergy who took his readings from first Thessalonians 5:18 said in everything thanks should be given to God because He made it possible for him to celebrate his birthday. "Royalty has made the king to be rejuvenated because God has given him a kingdom to govern and I am asking the Olomu kingdom to support his reign because when a king is enthroned, he should be respected."Congratulating the royal monarch at 90, the eldest son, Dr Ogheneochuko Ovbagbedia said, "It is not everyday you see people getting to 90 and it is a thing of joy for us his children and the entire family. "His two elder brothers died before 50 and when our father gets to this age, we deemed it fit to celebrate him and it is a great day for us."He became a king at 89, at it tells you that it is only God that rules the affairs of men and we are happy because even at this time, there is this doubt that, am i going to be still become a king? but God did it. "It is my prayers that he live and develop on the legacy of the departed late Owhorode who was a great monarch and Olomu Kingdom should continue to grow."On his way part, Otota of Olomu Kingdom, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN, "We celebrate our Royal father, HRM Macaulay Popo Ovbagbedia Uhurhie-Osadjere II, Ohworode of Ancient Olomu Kingdom on his attainment of 90 natal years."It brings us joy to cheer him as our revered monarch. This is a no mean feat, but not surprising as Olomu Kingdom is known for wealth and longevity."As we celebrate this momentous nonagenarian event, we pray for more years of peace, good health and prosperity for our King."Ajuwe! May celebration not cease from your family and the kingdom as we look forward to many great memories and celebration."
