Updated: Police apprehend fleeing Delta Community leader who kills lover
Police in Delta State have apprehended fleeing former Vice Chairman of Okolor Inland community, Udu Local Government Area, Delta state, Austin Ejovwo, who murdered his lover, Felicia Akpomeria.Our reliable source said operatives smoked out the suspect in a hide out at Ologbo Community of Edo State on Monday.Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe in a telephone call confirmed the arrest of the suspect.According to information gathered from family sources, Ejovwo had been in a relationship with the deceased 45 year old Felicia, a single mother of four for over a year.Felicia was found dead in the lover's bedroom apartment in her pool of blood from matchet wounds on Friday with Ejovwo disappearing.The discovery of the murdered woman corpse led to tension between Ubogo (Victim's Community) and Okolor inland (Suspect's Community) as angry youths brace up for communal war.Our Correspondent who visited Ubogo Community noted that the arrest of the suspect has brought some reliefs to the family.According to Godwin Laya, victim's relative. "We are a bit relief that the killer of our sister has been arrested. We thank the police who acted swiftly."We call on the Government to handle the matter very well and ensure that justice is done. Felicia cannot die in vain."
